HOD, Electrical Engineering Department

The department is currently independent after being split from Building/Electrical department. The Department is growing very fast in terms of student population with current population of about 500 trainees. The department is fully equipped with Two(2) modern Electrical Workshops. Apart from KNEC examinable courses the department also offers Electrical Installation Level 5 which is a CBET course.

The department  has competent trainers, With three workshops for training . The department has enough soft copy engineering books and adequate training materials. The department is focused to impart both practical and theoretical knowledge and skills to trainees. We are geared to produce competent and practical skill based technicians in the country . The department is keen on safety and security for trainers and trainees. we encourage trainees to observe safety procedures during training by having the right PPE such as Aprons, gloves, hardhats and steel toe caps. The examining bodies are Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and Matili Technical Training Institute and NITA. The department also offers Government Trade Test (GTT Exams) as an examination centre.

Diploma course requires one to do three modular examinations every year while certificate has two exams. Artisan course has one final exam. A trainee also has to proceed for a three month compulsory attachment before the end of the course.
