JOB TITLE: INTERNAL AUDITOR
JOB GROUP: K
TERMS OF SERVICE: CONTRACT
NO. OF POSITIONS: ONE (1)
(a) Duties and responsibilities.
i. Undertaking audit verification assignments.
ii. Preparing and submitting audit findings.
iii. Developing and implementing audit management systems.
iv. Carrying out a review of accounting, financial and budgetary systems.
v. Communicating any loopholes within the Institute’s structure and recommending
appropriate solutions to ensure minimal disruptions to business operations from
unsupportive structures.
vi. Inducting other audit staff on the use of computerized audit techniques and
methods for ease in the use of techniques.
vii. Undertaking non-financial audit assignments; setting up systems of internal
control and regulation.
viii. Developing and implementing audit plans (Programs).
ix. Ensuring the Public Procurement & Disposal Act, 2015, is adhered to in all the
procurement processes.
x. Advising management on policies related to internal controls, financial
accounting and reporting on financial administration as per the Government
Regulations.
xi. Advising and participating in stock control and stock taking.
xii. Carrying out other tasks as shall be assigned from time to time.
(b) Minimum Qualifications.
i. Must be a Kenyan citizen.
ii. Must be in possession of a first degree in Commerce (Accounting/ Finance
options) or equivalent from a recognized university.
iii. Be a holder of a CPA(K) certificate.
iv. Have proficiency in computer accounting packages ie Quick books, Excel,
Pastel, Sage etc.
v. At least three (3) years proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures,
laws, rules and regulations.
vi. Registered with ICPAK or equivalent professional body.
vii. Must be a member of Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya.
viii. Candidates must comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTS CLERK II
JOB GROUP: G
TERMS OF SERVICE: CONTRACT
NO. OF POSITIONS: TWO (2)
(a) Duties and responsibilities.
i. Reports to finance officer.
ii. Preparation of financial documents and reports.
iii. Ensure safe custody of the institution’s accounting records for reference
purposes to enhance easy retrieval of the information when preparing
statements.
iv. Update the creditor’s accounts to provide timely, accurate and complete
information for efficiency in the management of the institution’s creditors.
v. Carrying out bank reconciliations.
vi. Maintaining students and other debtors’ ledgers accounts.
vii. Carrying out other tasks as shall be assigned from time to time.
(b) Minimum Qualifications.
i. Must have at least CPA II
ii. Diploma in accounting or business-related field will be an added advantage.
iii. Have proficiency in computer accounting packages.
iv. Have at least 2 years’ experience in the same capacity in an educational
institution.
v. Candidates must comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

(a) Duties and responsibilities.
i. Supervise the accounts clerks for effective execution of their duties;
ii. Verify vouchers and committal documents in accordance to the set
requirements and guidelines to ensure compliance;
iii. Capture data and posting to primary document i.e. cash books and ledger;
iv. Bank reconciliation and keeping financial records;
v. Prepare information on payment claims to ensure approval is supported by
relevant documentation to enhance integrity, efficiency and effectiveness in
the payment process;
vi. Provide reports on the institution’s budget performance to ensure gaps in
performance are identified and appropriate strategies developed and
implemented in a proactive manner;
vii. Produce periodic cash flow and forecasting reports to advice on the
availability of funds critical for the implementation of the institution budget;
viii. Process staff payments in a timely manner and in line with the institution’s
policies and procedures;
ix. Carrying out other tasks as shall be assigned from time to time.
(b) Minimum Qualifications.
i. Must have at least CPA III
ii. Bachelor degree in Commerce (Accounting/ Finance options) from a
recognized university will be an added advantage.
iii. Have proficiency in computer accounting packages.
iv. Have at least 3 years’ experience in the same capacity in an educational
institution.
v. Must demonstrate the following attributes:
Integrity and commitment;
Ability to communicate;
Ability to be a team player;
Ability to supervise; and
Good work attitude and ability to follow instructions.
vi. Candidates must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of
Kenya, 2010.

Matili Technical Training Institute was started in 1959 as a youth center. It was upgraded to a Village Polytechnic in 1971 and a Youth Polytechnic in 1984 offering Vocational Training in various trades. It was upgraded to a Technical Training Institute in 2009, in conformity with Governments’ commitment in harnessing the contributions of Science, Technology and Innovation as a tool in achieving the goals set out in the vision 2030. Matili Technical Training Institute is a Public County TVET College institution, located near Kimilili Town, Kimilili Constituency in Bungoma County.
