Admissions

How do I apply for admission?
You can apply online through the institute's online application portal or visit the Admissions Office for assistance.
What are the minimum admission requirements?
Admission requirements depend on the course level (Level 4, Artisan, Level 5 (Craft Certificate), Level 6 Diploma, etc.). Each programme has its own KCSE grade requirements.
When are the intakes?
The institute normally admits students in January, May and September every year.

Courses

Which courses does Matili Technical Training Institute offer?
The institute offers programmes in Engineering, ICT, Business, Hospitality, Agriculture, Building & Civil Engineering, Fashion & Design, Social Sciences, Electrical Engineering and many other TVET fields.
Which examination bodies certify your programmes?
Depending on the programme, examinations are administered by KNEC, TVET CDACC, KASNEB, NITA, NTSA and other recognised bodies.
How long do the courses take?
Course duration varies from a few months for short courses to several terms for Diploma programmes.
Can I upgrade from Artisan to Diploma?
Yes. Students can progressively advance through TVET qualification levels after meeting the required qualifications.

Fees & Financial Aid

How much are the tuition fees?
Tuition fees vary depending on the programme. Kindly visit the Finance Office or the Fees page on our website for the latest fee structure.
Can I pay fees in instalments?
Yes. Fee payment by instalments is allowed subject to the institute's fee payment policy.
Does the institute accept HELB funding?
Yes. Eligible trainees can apply for HELB funding through the Higher Education Financing (HEF) programme.
Are there scholarships available?
Yes. Scholarships and bursaries may be available through the Government of Kenya and other partner organizations.

NO. Hostel accommodation is not available within the institute, students are advised to look for hostels within the neighborhood.

Does the institute offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
Yes. Matili Technical Training Institute (MaTTI) offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in collaboration with Qualifications Awarding Institutions (QAIs), allowing experienced individuals to have their existing skills and competencies assessed for certification.
